2021 Blockers Shiraz
Named in honour of founder Eric Brand, one of the original ‘Blockers’ (landholders who sold their grapes to larger wineries in the 1950s and 60s). The warm days and cool nights of 2019 provided superior ripening conditions leading to wines with excellent varietal characters. Our Blockers Shiraz exhibits excellent fruit concentration, high colour density and a firm but fine tannin profile.
WINEMAKERS NOTES
A deep crimson red colour. Vibrant dark plum and Blackberry fruit aromas accompanied by subtle cedar and vanilla oak notes. The palate is round, juicy and plush displaying blood plum and blackberry fruits and subtle spicy anise flavours. Oak maturation contributes well integrated sweet vanilla and cedar oak characters. The palate finishes long with fine grained tannins and lingering fruit flavours. Drinking well now and with careful cellaring will reward up to 8-10 years of age.
