Brand’s Laira has some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the region. Our carefully tended vineyards produce exceptional quality grapes, perfect for crafting wines in the classic Coonawarra style with outstanding modern refinement due to decades of winemaking expertise.
2018 Blockers Cabernet Sauvignon - Named in honor of founder Eric Brand, one of the original ‘Blockers’ (landholders who sold their grapes to larger wineries in the 1950s and 60s). Blockers Cabernet is one of the icons of our range. Made in classic Coonawarra style, it is the perfect combination of rich fruit, complexity and elegance. An intense palate with powerful fine-grained tannins and a long fine finish.
2018 One Seven One Cabernet Sauvignon -The grapes for our flagship wine are sourced from the number one block of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in 1971 on the famous terra rossa soils. The combination of bright fruit from established old vines, coupled with the elegance of top-quality French oak has produced a balanced wine. It finishes long with fine, velvety tannins and lingering fruit notes. Lovely to drink now, but with careful cellaring this wine will continue to improve over the next 20 years.
