2022 Blockers Cabernet Merlot

Named in honour of founder Eric Brand, one of the original ‘Blockers’ (landholders who sold their grapes to larger wineries in the 1950s and 60s). The wines have developed a reputation for expressing bold Coonawarra fruit flavours and delivering a powerful, yet elegant style.  Another strong vintage for Coonawarra in 2022. Stable weather conditions resulted in high quality fruit with moderate to good yields. Favourable climatic conditions allowed the fruit to be picked at optimum levels for ripeness and flavour.

WINEMAKERS NOTES

A deep crimson-red colour. Vibrant cassis, blackberry and mulberry fruit aromas accompanied by subtle cedar notes. The palate is plush with dark berry fruit and a well-integrated nutty cedar oak and fine silky tannins. Enjoy a long smooth finish.

Tis wine would air beautifully with charcoal roasted pork belly with smoked tomatoes and lamb rolled loin with a mustard and tarragon sauce.
